Vietnam, 1998
workshop
The Vietnam workshop was one of the earliest WRB field activities, focusing on tropical soils with strong weathering, high rainfall, and intense biological activity. Participants examined soils with rapid development and complex characteristics, which challenged existing classification approaches. The community worked on establishing diagnostic horizons and testing the applicability of WRB in tropical conditions. The workshop emphasized the importance of global collaboration and field-based learning. It played a foundational role in shaping WRB as an internationally relevant classification system.
