Mexico, 2022
The 2022 meeting in Mexico highlighted the importance of soil classification in highly diverse landscapes shaped by complex geology and climate gradients. Excursions exposed participants to a wide range of soils, including volcanic, arid, and tropical systems, allowing detailed comparison of classification approaches under the WRB framework. A key focus of the community was improving the description and classification of soils with strong human influence and those affected by land degradation.
